She studied directly with Magda Gerber, founder of RIE and has taught RIE classes in LA since 1994.

Janet will be teaching this one off class on Friday, May 25th at Pono Democratic Outdoor School on 2002 5th avenue from 9:30am till 11am.

During a RIE class, small groups of parents and babies come together in a calm, child-friendly environment to observe and enjoy their children exploring, interacting, and playing. Janet Lansbury will model how and when to intervene during play and will lead the subsequent discussion.

Participants learn key facts about child development, how to understand babies’ cues and respond to their wants and needs, and how their newfound observation skills can make family life more enjoyable. Babies for this class are grouped according to their gross motor development.
